Breathe Biog and Objectives for 2008:

"Breathe – The Delicate Sound of Floyd" are a UK based collective who come together with the express purpose of sharing a joint passion for the music of Pink Floyd and the rather crazy notion that there is enormous fun to be had if you are lucky enough to be gigging with people you like and playing music that you enjoy, pretty much anywhere!
Content to remain wigless, so not exactly a “tribute”, our aim is to place the music at the very centre of the performance. Our journey is a “Celebration of the music of Pink Floyd” which was embarked upon in 2005. The repertoire focuses mainly upon Floyd’s post 70’s catalogue but we do dip into earlier works inspired by Syd Barrett such as the psychedelic but gloriously naïve “See Emily Play” and there is a programme of work in progress to further develop content.

For what is essentially a part-time project, we do find ourselves doing quite a lot of it (33 Public Shows during 2007) and we have also enjoyed involvement in some rather high profile projects. The highlight for 2007 was undoubtedly a request from Stewart McGill, Artistic Director at The Playbox Theatre in Warwick, to play all the music from “The Wall” as part of a dramatic representation of the work which culminated in five (four were sold-out) shows, which were endorsed by Roger Waters’ management, during November where we were joined on stage by 50 members of the Playbox Youth Theatre troupe to considerable critical acclaim (see show review by Mark Cunningham, Editor of Total Productions International).

So, as interest in what we do has increased significantly, we remain most firmly “up” for any challenge and (from the relative safety of 2007) next year augurs well for some exciting vibes in venues that are new to us, we’re looking forward to renewing friendships where we’ve been before and we have plans in the pipeline to continue to augment the show.

The Music, however, will remain.....
